PROPOSED PAY FREEZE FOR MDP OFFICERS – MEETING BETWEEN DPF AND FORCE MANAGEMENT
I attended a meeting today with the force where we discussed the implementation of the freeze on incremental pay progression and the assimilation arrangements that will apply once the freeze period ends. The force will now forward me their proposals for consideration and we will respond accordingly.
The current position would appear to be that in order to ensure no disadvantage to officers as a result of pay scale assimilation at the end of the freeze period, any officers that could potentially be leapfrogged by colleagues with less service will have their pay increment date adjusted (i.e. brought forward) to ensure that they are not disadvantaged.
I expect to receive the force proposals shortly and will respond within the next 2 weeks and we will hopefully have a formal position by the end of this month.
