Survey address: DPF VSA SURVEY
As stated in Circular 67/16 we attended, alongside many officers from the Force, a workshop on the proposed changes to VSA’s, from the Chief Constable.
Our position, at this time is that the case for change has not been evidenced and as such we have engaged further, with the Chief Officers, including a meeting at the end of last week with the Deputy Chief Constable on this matter.
We have been clear that the evidence provided thus far does not support the position of the Force and that we would need to see far more robust evidence, before we could consider that the need for change was genuine.
It is the position of the Force that this is not a final position and that, in the words of the DCC ‘We are at the beginning of a journey, not the end’. As such we have committed to engage further and would welcome any responses compiled, as we stated in the previous circular, as these will assist us in ensuring we evidence your position fully.
Additionally, we have placed a survey on the internet at DPF VSA SURVEY which we would ask every member of the Force to complete, to give us the basic data on how these proposed changes might affect you and ensure we have an evidence based response, that will be factual.
As I said before, this is one of the most contentious issues for you our members and we will continue to represent you robustly and with irrefutable facts, to ensure the correct outcome for both the Force and you our membership.
Please complete the survey as soon as you are able.
