Circular 47/14

UPDATE TO MEMBERS – TACOS

As stated in Circular 46/14, the National Officers met with the Department on 13th November to continue ongoing discussions regarding Terms & Conditions of Service.

As you would expect, there has been an initial exchange of letters between the Federation and the Department, and the meeting on 13th November was used to explore our respective positions on a number of issues as part of the ongoing negotiation process.

The discussions specifically covered fitness standards and testing, 95% pay relativity, the applicability of TACOS changes that have been implemented by the Home Office following the Winsor Review, working hours and the Net Pay Deduction.

It was emphasised by the DPF that the ongoing consideration about the future Normal Pension Age for MDP officers, was a hindrance to agreeing a final TACOS proposition. The Department reiterated the requirement at this time of austerity for the TACOS proposition to be affordable.

Discussions will continue and we will update you further in due course.
