TACOS 2nd Ballot Result

All Members,

The ballot for the COUNTER OFFER from the Defence Police Federation, to the Department on their proposed changes to our Terms & Conditions of Service has closed.

The result of the ballot is as follows:

Members:          2221

Votes cast:        1004

For:                    706

Against:             298

Percentage of members voted:          45%

Percentage reduction on last ballot:  10% of membership

Percentage of votes for:                               70%

Percentage of votes against:                       30%

As such the vote is carried.

I have today written to the Department (letter atttached here) to make our position clear.

I am due to have a meeting with them on Thursday morning and will hopefully ascertain, whether or not they are able or agreeable to meeting our conditions.

We will of course keep you informed of the issue, as this moves forward.
