With effect from 1 September 2026, the following changes will apply:

  • A 3.5% increase to basic pay across all ranks and pay points.
  • A 3.5% increase to London Weighting, increasing to £3,261 per annum.
  • An increase to the maximum London Allowance to £4,490 per annum.
  • A 3.5% increase to South-East Allowance (Higher), increasing to £3,105 per annum.
  • A 3.5% increase to South-East Allowance (Lower), increasing to £2,070 per annum.
  • An increase to Dog Handlers’ Allowance to £3,048 per annum, in line with the agreed annual uplift.

The Department has advised that these changes will be implemented by DBS and will take effect from 1 September 2026.

The changes relating to Maternity Support Leave, Adoption Support Leave and the removal of the ten-day qualifying period for Acting Up Allowance will be progressed separately. The Department has confirmed these will be considered once the relevant amendments to the Police Regulations 2003 have been finalised following the Home Office consultation process.

We will continue to engage with the Department regarding the remaining outstanding changes and will keep members informed of further developments.
