Armed Forces Week is an opportunity for the nation to come together and recognise the dedication, professionalism and sacrifice of the men and women who serve in our Armed Forces.
It is a time to celebrate their contribution to our security, acknowledge the support of their families, and recognise the vital role they play both at home and overseas.
As representatives of officers who police and protect the Defence estate, the Defence Police Federation is proud to work within the defence environment and alongside the ArmedĀ ForcesĀ community. Every day, our officers contribute to the security of sites, personnel, assets and infrastructure that are essential to the defence of the United Kingdom.
We see first-hand the commitment demonstrated by members of the Armed Forces, whether they are serving on operations abroad, supporting national resilience at home, or carrying out the countless duties that often go unseen by the public. Their expertise, courage and sense of service help keep our nation safe and secure.
During Armed Forces Week, we also recognise the invaluable contribution of veterans, whose service continues to inspire future generations, and reservists, who bring valuable skills, experience and dedication to both civilian and defence roles. Their willingness to serve, often balancing theirĀ reservistĀ commitments with family life and civilian careers, is a testament to their commitment to the nation.
The close relationship between Ministry of Defence Police officers and the wider Armed Forces community creates a unique bond built on shared values of service, integrity and duty. We are proud to play our part in supporting Defence and safeguarding the people, places and capabilities that underpin the UK’s security.
As we mark Armed Forces Week, we extend our sincere thanks to all serving personnel, veterans, reservists and military families. Your dedication, sacrifice and service are deeply valued and appreciated.
Offering a personal insight into life as both a Ministry of Defence Police officer and a reservist, one of our Branch Representatives shares their experiences of service and personal development, as well as what Armed Forces Week means to them.
