Christmas and New Year message from Defence Police Federation Chair Eamon Keating

This Christmas, all of us at the Defence Police Federation would like to express our sincere gratitude to our hardworking members. We are very grateful for their commitment, their professionalism, and for the time they will be giving up over the Christmas and New Year period ensuring the safety of Defence, the public and protecting the nation.

2023 has been another difficult year. We’ve seen our numbers dip, we recognise that there is a lot of anxiety out there and we are making sure our officers are represented – and indeed to make sure that people who need to know about what we are doing, do.

But there have been good points too. A highlight of the year for me was yet another fantastic awards night in November, which gave us the chance to recognise the excellent professional work of our colleagues and people who support the Federation.

I’d like to close by saying how proud we are to support officers and represent the excellent people we work with.

I hope they all have some time to rest and restore at some point and enjoy some time off with loved ones. I wish all our colleagues the
