To All Members
Circular 42/26
The Defence Police Federation Annual Conference 2026 will be held from Wednesday 18th November to Friday 20th November 2026.
This DPF circular is to formally advise that the election cycle dictates that there will be Branch Representative vacancies on the National Executive Committee. There is one vacancy for each of the Northern and the Southern Areas.
The successful candidate in each election will have a 3-year term of office commencing at the Annual Conference 2026 and ending at the Annual Conference 2029.
The eligibility criteria for election to the National Executive Committee are laid out in Rule 9 (a) of the DPF Rules & Constitution (2025 version) which states:
Rule 9 – Election to the National Executive Committee
(a) Unless otherwise resolved by Annual Conference for that year, to stand for
election to the National Executive Committee a member must:
(i) Be fully paid up and have at least three years unbroken membership at the
time of nomination: and
(ii) Have served at least one year’s membership as a Branch Representative.
Should any DPF member, who meets the qualifying criteria, wish to stand for election to the National Executive Committee please complete the Nomination Form relevant to your Area (Northern Area Form) / (Southern Area Form) and return by email to DPF HQ using the following email addresses:
admin1@dpf.org.uk / admin2@dpf.org.uk.
There are strict deadlines to follow regarding the election process and Nomination Forms must be completed and received by DPF HQ no later than 12noon on Friday 30th October 2026. Candidates are advised that if an email to acknowledge receipt of the Nomination Form is not received within 5 working days, please contact DPF HQ on 020 3176 6511 or 020 3176 6512.
Due to changes to the Rules & Constitution (including Rule 9) agreed at the Annual Conference 2024, CASOC will then produce an Interim List of Candidates for each Area and publish this to the DPF membership.
At the opening session of Annual Conference 2026, there will be a call for any further candidates to submit Nomination Forms. This additional “nomination window” will close at 12noon on 19th November 2026.
In the event of there being more candidates than vacancies, CASOC will proceed to make the necessary arrangements for an election at the Annual Conference.
Only the Branch Representatives who are present at Annual Conference will be entitled to vote.
Should anyone have any questions regarding this matter please contact either DPF HQ or your respective Area Secretary.
This is your opportunity to be at the very heart of Defence Police Federation policy and decision making where you will be dealing directly with the strategic issues that face the Federation and its membership.
YOU can make a difference.
