Circular 39/26

This circular provides important information for members of the Group Insurance Scheme who may be travelling during the transition to Gallagher Group Insurance on 1 October 2026.

Members have previously been advised that the Group Insurance Scheme will renew on 1 October 2026 and that, following a competitive tender process, the Scheme will move to Gallagher Group Insurance. Existing cover is being maintained, with additional benefits and enhancements introduced under the new scheme.

Travel Cover During the Transition Period

Subscribing members who commence a trip before the transition to Gallagher Group Insurance will remain covered by the current travel provider for the duration of that trip.

This means that where a journey starts before 1 October 2026 and continues beyond that date, the existing travel provider will cover the whole trip.

There is no requirement for members to notify Gallagher Group Insurance before travelling in respect of trips that began before the new scheme commences.

Summary of Scheme Change

As previously advised, premiums remain unchanged and existing cover is being maintained under the new arrangements. Subscribing members and retirees of the Group Insurance Scheme will also benefit from a number of additional and enhanced benefits from 1 October 2026.

Further information, including policy booklets, Gallagher customer service contact details, claims information and relevant links, will be published on the DPF website shortly.
