Among many decisions made at the 2024 Annual Conference were the following:

  • The DPF will begin discussions with the Department and Chief Constable to seek pay parity with BTP and CNC.

  • A new mandate was secured for the collection of DPF subscriptions and the mechanism by which they are determined.

  • The DPF Death Benefit amount payable following the death of a member in service was increased to £5,000.

  • The DPF Death Benefit amount payable following the death of a member within 12 months of their retirement was increased to £2,500.

  • Payments available under the DPF Death Benefit to be reviewed at Annual Conference 2027.

  • The DPF will cease publication of the DPF Diary following distribution of the 2025 edition.

  • The Rules of the DPF will be re-written to make them gender neutral.

  • Post holders will also hold gender neutral titles e.g. National Chair, National Vice Chair and Chair of CASOC etc.

  • The “Senior Supervisory Grade” group of members has been re-branded as the “Inspecting & Superintending Ranks” (ISR’s) to more accurately reflect their roles.

  • With regard to the number of Branch Representatives permissible at any Branch a new formula “the 2024 formula” has been adopted as follows:

1 –   50 members      = 1 Branch Representative

51 – 100 members    = 2 Branch Representatives

101 – 200 members  = 3 Branch Representatives

201 – 300 members  = 4 Branch Representatives

301 – 400 members  = 5 Branch Representatives

This change is effective immediately.

If any Branch is unsure as to how many members it has, please contact your Area Secretary for clarification.

The documentation relating to the 2024 Annual Conference is available on the DPF website under the “Annual Conference” tab.
