Circular 02/18
This circular is to update members concerning the pay award. As in previous circulars, you will all be aware of the Governments decision with regards the pay rise for the Police service. The process for any pay rise as described before follows a set process, in that the Home Office issues a circular which once received by the relevant departments, they make the necessary arrangements for payment.
However, you will be aware that the Home Office has for no apparent reason, still not issued the circular to date. With this in mind the DPF have written to the Department requesting they initiate the payment of the rise as agreed, as it is fundamentally unfair to withhold this payment. At present, we have received no reply, however the DPF has written to the Department asking for dialogue forthwith. The DPF also asked previously, that the department inform DBS of the projected rise, thus giving them the time to be in a position to implement any pay rise immediately.
The DPF have been in contact with the Home Office who maintain the circular is near to being issued. We also contacted the Police Federation of England and Wales (PFEW), The General Secretary for PFEW, stated that he is aware the circular has been drafted and should be issued shortly.
The DPF find it wholly unacceptable, that our members have not been afforded their pay rise, because of what appears a lack of urgency from the home office departments. We will continue dialogue with all concerned and will update accordingly.
