As we approach the festive season, it gives me and my Federation colleagues the opportunity to thank all of our members for their hard work over the past 12 months.
It’s been another tough year as we’ve come out of COVID, with all its challenges. There have also been huge pressures on officers both operationally at work, and domestically, with the cost of living crisis.
We have nothing but immense pride for our officers. That was demonstrated at our recent Defence Police Federation Awards ceremony, where we were able to champion some of the work our colleagues have carried out over the past year, and their commitment, excellence and bravery.
I can say with absolute certainty that there were many, many more officers we could have highlighted that night.
I also really appreciate the work done by our Federation, from our HQ, the reps and our accredited friends. The team has worked tirelessly over the past year for our membership, especially on our welfare offering. It’s been phenomenal.
I’d like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very safe festive period, as we look forward to 2023.
