The Defence Police Federation are proud to announce the appointment of our new General Secretary and National Officer, Mr Darren Mitchell.
This appointment followed a formal, independent and competitive process.
Darren will formally take up this position on 1st August 2025 and is currently transitioning into the role, alongside our retiring General Secretary, Mr Mitch Batt. We are all looking forward to working with Darren, who has a history with the Federation and will be a genuine asset going forward.

I would also like to take this opportunity to publicly thank Mitch for his time with the Federation, especially over the past nine years in the role of General Secretary, where he has kept the DPF on target, enabling us to continue to represent our members to the highest standards. We wish Mitch all the very best for his impending retirement on 31st July 2025.
