The Defence Police Federation has taken the difficult decision to postpone our Annual Conference and first ever Annual Awards due to concerns around Covid-19 Coronavirus.
These events were due to take place on 24 and 25 June. Instead they will now take place 5 and 6 November.
We realise these important events remain a few months away – and no one can predict the situation the country will be in come June – but as an organisation we feel this is a prudent and sensible decision at this time.
The safety and wellbeing of those we represent and work alongside is paramount. And we also have to consider the resilience of the Force and the impact of removing officers from the frontline to attend our Conference.
Over coming months, we will continue to assist the Ministry of Defence Police in its work on tackling the threat of the virus and to ensure the views and concerns of our members are addressed. And we will continue to follow Government guidance and public health advice closely.
We are contacting all delegates, speakers, guests and sponsors to advise them of our decision and new plans.
We intend to judge the Annual Awards as per normal in the coming weeks – we think it more important than ever to celebrate the work of colleagues in 2020 – and we now look forward to celebrating DPF Members and their achievements later in the year.
We thank all for their understanding.
