Christmas Message for Members from Eamon Keating, Chairman of the Defence Police Federation
This last year has been one which has tested everyone to their limits, but you have conducted yourselves with professionalism and pride and have made our job, in representing you, that much easier as a result.
I cannot articulate the pride I have for the MDP and its officers and am especially proud of the way in which you have all attacked the issues put before us and risen to each and every challenge.
Hopefully the next year will be easier, a year where we are all recognised for the commitment we give to our role, in protecting the Nation and one where proper recognition is given to the disparities between our roles and those of all of the other police officers in the UK.
But regardless of how we are treated or perceived I know you will all give 100% commitment to your roles and your colleagues, ensuring the people and places we protect are secure and safe, because of the proud and professional way in which you all work.
Thank you for all of your efforts and may I, and the Defence Police Federation, take this opportunity to wish you all the best for the Festive Season and a very, very Happy New Year.
