The Government has announced the latest pay awards for all public sector workers, which includes police officers.

The agreed increase for Police, as stated on the Home Office website is as follows:

Police and prison officers will both have a 2.5% rise in pay.

The Home Secretary has also confirmed a corresponding increase to London Weighting and the Dog Handlers’ Allowance, with effect from 1 September 2020. (2.5% for both)

There was also a recommendation to remove the lowest point of the sergeants’ pay scale, which was accepted and agreed.

As a result, and in line with our long-standing parity agreement, The DPF have written to the Department seeking confirmation that the MoD will implement the increase to Ministry of Defence Police salaries, in full, and in line with other Home Office Forces.
