Circular 02/15

REVISED WELFARE SUPPORT SYSTEM IN THE DPF

Members are advised that the DPF is looking to revise its provision of Welfare Support and to generate a much more proactive and wider response to welfare issues in a collaborative approach with the Force.

To do this we are looking to create a network of Welfare Representatives across the Force to assist members and the DPF in all matter’s relating to efficiency, health, welfare and employment matters.

These reps will be trained and equipped to assist members locally and will be supported by the DPF structure under the governance of our Welfare Support Officer, Mrs Claire Batt.

This circular is produced to ask members who are interested in becoming Welfare Reps to please identify themselves, to either the Area Secretaries at:

northsec@dpf.org.uk – Karen McKeown / southsec@dpf.org.uk – Terry Tuplin

Or to DPF HQ at: admin1@dpf.org.uk

All of the volunteers will then be contacted to arrange training, which will consist of a short course to inform them of the processes and law behind Restoring Efficiency (PREP Procedures), Ill Health Retirement processes, Equality Act 2010 & Reasonable Adjustments requirements, Financial support, Health issues and all other aspects that they might be asked to help with.

We are hoping that the Force will approach this from a collaborative position and assist in some areas with training.

I hope that many of you will see this as an opportunity to help your colleagues and come forward to assist us in helping others.

Eamon Keating

National Chairman
